Report: Man threatened another with a baseball bat

A 60-year-old West Rome man was arrested at his Miami Drive home on felony charges of terroristic threats and acts, and 2nd-degree cruelty to children.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Mitchum Dean Reeves used a baseball bat with a screw in it to threaten another person.

Reeves admitted to the incident that took place in front of three children.

Man arrested on false imprisonment, firearms charges

An Armuchee man was jailed Monday following an incident on Reservoir Street.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

27-year-old Deryan Tyrek Almond held a firearm above the victim’s head and shoved her into a door causing her eye to swell.

He then held the victim against her will inside the residence.

The woman was able to contact someone who notified 911.

The altercation occurred with an 8-month-old child in the home.

Almond is charged with false imprisonment, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, 3rd-degree cruelty to children, battery, and simple assault.

Man charged with aggravated assault

A North Rome man was arrested Monday on a felony aggravated assault charge.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

23-year-old Jaderrius Armand Tae Cotton grabbed a woman by the neck and forced her face into a pillow, causing her to be unable to breathe.

The victim was left with multiple, visible marks on her neck and arms during the incident that occurred at a home in Silver Creek.

Man accused of damaging vehicle and threatening officer

A Rome man is facing charges after allegedly damaging a vehicle on Mahogany Street Monday evening.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

35-year-old Jaren Whitley Barrett caused more than $500 to the vehicle and also threatened to harm a law enforcement officer.

He is charged with criminal damage to property and terroristic threats and acts.
