Large meth shipment intercepted following speeding violation in Gordon County

According to Gordon County Sheriff Mitch Ralston, a speeding violation has led to the interception of a large shipment of methamphetamine in Gordon County.

On Saturday night, December 30th, 2023, a deputy sheriff on patrol observed an automobile traveling at a high rate of speed (90 mph) on the South Calhoun Bypass.

The deputy attempted to stop the car and after a short pursuit, the speeding automobile yielded.
The deputies subsequently proceeded to search the vehicle which yielded several pounds of methamphetamine.

The driver, identified as one Jonathan Samano, age 22 of 108B Oak Hill Drive, Calhoun, and the passenger, Lacey Hall, age 21 of 431 Jolly Road, Calhoun were both arrested without incident and charged with Trafficking in Methamphetamine and related offenses.

They both remain in jail pending court appearance.

The investigation remains active and ongoing by the Gordon Sheriff’s Drug Enforcement Unit.
