Chattooga Sheriff’s Office reports on drowning in Lyerly

WZQZ Radio has reported that a man drowned in an accident that occurred in Chattooga County earlier this morning.

Emergency workers were called to the drowning that occurred at a property on Oakhill Road in Lyerly.

Chattooga County Sheriff Mark Schrader confirmed that 39-year-old Jeremy Shane Deberry, of a Mosely Spring Road address, was trimming grass around a body of water when he collapsed into the water. 

Schrader stated that Deberry’s body was discovered by the property owner.
