On Saturday afternoon the 7th annual Fiddlin’ Fest transformed Downtown Rome into a giant bluegrass street celebration. The festival featured the classical sounds of bluegrass music on two live music stages along with activities along every block of the festival.

Large crowds came to hear the music, while also enjoying the “Cars on Broad” car show which featured cars from every decade including pre-1950, and also pony rides for the kids.

According to Downtown Rome, over a hundred street vendors were present to participate in this year’s vendor village which lined the streets downtown during the bluegrass fun.

The vendor village had something for everyone from pottery to handmade jewelry to paintings.
WRGA News spoke with local vendor Marigrace Botts-Padilla about her booth which featured her Blacksmithing skills (please see the video).

The free event was made possible thanks to the support of Downtown Rome businesses and property owners.
