[VIDEO] Rome/Floyd Department to hold free Special-Needs Fire Safety Camp

From Shasta Farrer of the Rome/Floyd Fire Department:

“Camp Fully Involved RFD is a 3-hour fire camp for our local special needs community for ages 10 and up, sponsored by the Rome-Floyd Fire Department.

This camp is FREE of charge and for all abilities and will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2022, at our Rome-Floyd Fire Department Training Facility- 168A North Ave. Rome, GA.

We have 2 sessions you can choose from, 9 am-Noon or 1 pm-4 pm. Each session has 50 camper spots available and is on a first come first serve basis.

Each camper will receive a t-shirt, a box meal to take home with them after camp, and lots of fun memories that will be made.

Camp activities include:

  • Meeting our local public safety heroes and seeing their cars, trucks, and more.
  • Learn to spray water like a true firefighter
  • Go through a “Get Low and Go” themed obstacle course
  • Paint “Fire Safety” rocks
  • Ride in a fire truck
  • Learn about the gear firefighters wear and watch a firefighter put on full gear in less than 2 minutes, and a whole lot more!”
