Calhoun firefighters have spent hours at the scene of a massive industrial fire that started Wednesday afternoon.
The fire broke out at around 2 p.m. in a warehouse near the Rome B. David Airport off of Highway 41.
Surrounding buildings and the airport were evacuated due to propane tanks being stored in the warehouse.
It was reported that there were explosions.
Billowing black smoke from the blaze could be seen for miles.
It is believed a piece of machinery started the fire.
No serious injuries have been reported.
