A powerful storm system with a strong cold front will sweep across the area tonight and Thursday bringing multiple weather hazards and impacts to north and central Georgia.

The timing appears to be between midnight and 3 a.m. for our area.

We can expect windy conditions tonight with possible sustained winds of 15-30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph at times.

There will be strong to severe storms possible tonight with damaging winds of 60mph gusts which can cause possible spin-up tornadoes.

We can expect cooler drier air this weekend with rain chances returning late Tuesday and Wednesday of next week.

Please share this information with your employees, staff, faculty, students, family, and friends to ensure they are aware of our current weather situation predicted for this area.

Given the approach of a strong storm system that is expected to affect the area tonight into Thursday morning, we wanted to go ahead and put together a weather briefing/webinar for everyone that goes into some of the concerns and impacts. This briefing can also be found on our local NWS Peachtree City YouTube channel.
