NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE

The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for most of North Georgia from Thursday morning through Friday morning.

Floyd, Bartow, Chattooga, and Gordon Counties are all included in the watch area.

Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.

Areas of heavy rainfall will move across portions of north Georgia Thursday into Friday morning.

Rainfall totals of one to two inches with locally higher amounts are expected on near-saturated grounds. Localized flash flooding and quick rises on creeks and streams will be possible.
