Georgia gas prices continue to decrease.

Motorists are now paying an average price of $3.09 per gallon for regular unleaded gasoline.

Monday’s state average is a penny less than a week ago, 11 cents less than last month and 99 cents more than this time last year.

While pump prices are anticipated to increase in the New Year, fluctuations in the price of crude oil, and the impact of the COVID-19 omicron variant may result in lower gas prices for Georgians this week.

Local averages on Monday, according to AAA, were $2.97 in Floyd County and Gordon County, $2.96 in Chattooga County, $3.05 in Bartow and Polk County.
