Georgia gas prices continue their downward trend.

Georgia motorists are now paying an average price of $3.12 per gallon for regular unleaded gasoline.

Monday’s state average is 2 cents less than a week ago, 12 cents less than last month but $1.08 more than this time last year.

According to AAA, pump prices continue their descent, despite a slight rebound in oil prices due to waning fears of a global slowdown caused by the COVID-19 omicron variant. But its impact on pricing appears to be fading, so it remains to be seen if oil prices stabilize or move higher before Christmas.

Local averages on Monday were $3.02 in Floyd County, $3.11 in Bartow County, $3.05 in Chattooga County, $3.09 in Polk County, and $2.97 in Gordon County.
