Georgia gas prices are slightly lower than a week ago.
Georgia motorists are now paying an average price of $3.24 per gallon for regular unleaded gasoline.
Monday’s state average is a penny less than a week ago, but 4 cents more than last month and $1.29 more than this time last year.
There are several factors gasoline prices have soared this year, such as high crude oil prices and increased driving demand.
AAA predicts 1.5 million Georgians will be hitting the road for Thanksgiving.
Unfortunately, it appears these high gas prices will hang around through the holiday.
Local averages on Monday were $3.18 in both Floyd County and Bartow County, $3.16 in Gordon County, and $3.20 in both Chattooga and Polk Counties.
