153 of Georgia’s 159 counties are now listed as high transmission counties for COVID-19.
According to the Georgia Department of Public Health, high transmission means a county has had more than 100 cases per 100,000 residents and a positivity rate of over 10% in the last two weeks.
According to the latest report issued Monday, Floyd County had 435 confirmed cases from August 7 through August 13 and a test positivity rate of 24.8%.
Bartow County had a 17.7% positivity rate during the same week, Gordon County was at 19.2%, Chattooga County was 29.9% and Polk County was at 27.7%.
So far this week, Floyd County reported 106 new cases on Monday and 45 on Tuesday.
