Rome City Schools is observing a system-wide two-hour delay to class start times on Thursday.
This decision comes because of impending inclement weather that is in the forecast.
The two-hour change to class start time includes faculty and staff.
Please continue to check the RCS system social media pages and the system website for additional changes in scheduling.
Gordon County Schools will operate on a 2-hour delay.
This means that buses will arrive at stops 2 hours later than normal, and school drop-offs will begin 2 hours later.
Grab and go breakfast will be provided for students upon arrival at school.
Faculty and staff will also be delayed and will report 2 hours later than normal.
Calhoun Schools will also be on a two-hour delay for students and staff.
Due to the delayed start, PreK and Junior Jacket Academy early morning KEEP will not be held; however, KEEP will operate Thursday afternoon.
Cartersville City, Bartow County, Chattooga County, and Polk County Schools along with Cherokee County, DeKalb County and Fort Payne Schools in Alabama will also be operating on a two-hour delay.
All campuses of Georgia Northwestern Technical College will delay opening until 10 am on Thursday due to potential severe weather.
